Please download this from the website and save it to your hard disc or network, and use it from there - please do not keep coming back to reload it from here .... it is a big file and each download consumes what the Techies call bandwidth.
It works well with most versions of Excel; there may be some problems with Excel 97, where it does not generate the final conclusion sheet. Some Local Authority networks have blocks that prevent downloads of this kind of file, and the calculator uses macros, which not all networks allow - we have had reports of the calculator not running properly, and it usually seems to be the host machine or the network that is the problem - and some virus protection software blocks it too.
We hope that it is useful. It does take some time to load on some computers, but it is worth waiting for.
Important Note about Calculations;
The Regulations specify a different method of calculation from the Guidance and the Accredited Training; We have asked the ODPM for clarification as to the correct method, and will report back when a reply has been received. Our Calculator uses the “taught” method rather than the “Regulation” method
