Authors’ Note  & Disclaimer

This site evolved out of the collaboration of a number of people (the authors) who initially met as a group to study the Housing Act 2004 and in particular the Housing Health and Safety Rating System. Please note that while we wish to share our results, findings and views with others who, like us, are attempting to obtain a grasp of new developments in the area we do not consider our selves to be experts, and we may not be right.  The information given in this site is offered to help others understand the system and implement it: to guide, to inform, to educate, to inspire and to encourage.

Use it to inform yourself but make your own decisions.

Update 28th March 2006 - we have just become aware that there is a subtle change in the method of calculation, contained in the Regulations; the calculations in our worked examples and case studies were done under Version 2 draft guidance so may not be correct.
